I have a resolution to read 20 books this year, hopefully it materialises but I only finished my second book. This book is a very readable travel stories of the founder of Lonely planet and the founding of the whole lonely planet series.
I recommend it very much
I remember lonely planet was very useful during my roadtrip with MrK across Thailand on a Honda Jazz which come crashing at TakuaPa, a small town in south thailand before we were escorted by perfect service from the Hotel of a small but beautiful island. which i will talk about next time.
the second book is a collection of tibetan buddhist stories called the three boys
I cant find pictures of it on the web and I returned the book to the library alrd. Small book and nice enough to read during the short bus rides to school

He died last tuesday, much to my bereft who were dying of another author that can take me to many no sleep nights. I still remember it was reren who said that his books (contrary to what i thought about his name …sounds girly to me ) were fantastic and a page-turner that keeps u awake all nite (maybe one reason she is like tht now =))
I cant even remember how many books i have read but till now, each time i goes to the library i still scours through the SHE section for a glimpse of his highly popular books. All of them were best sellers and I had loved each one of them.
the last book should be are you afraid of the dark which i feature in this blog before if i dont rmb wrongly.
oh well god bless the man who only started writing when he was 50 and lived to provide great entertainment for all of us.

yay! 2 updates on one day…well the time stamp may not say so but yeah to me it is
so from now i am going to number the books i’ve read during the year
i have a target of 20 books last year…easily accomplished cos yeah..its easy its just 20…
so this year i have a target of 45 books, yeah i am going to cut down on my aimless surfing n get cooped up and read instead
so even though i have read a few earlier and i have mentioned them
i am going to start over
This is my best read so far…rating will be 5/5
its a story set in afganistan n teaches u more about friendship, culture, social classes, and most importantly betrayal. this book is easy to follow and captivating
my rating will be 5/5
2> shopaholics and sister by sophie kinsella
a chick lit…with little aim inside it …i think its just to teach u some things on examining urself…looking at urself first before blaming/flaming/looking down at others..related to ethnocentrism huh? what do u think
rating: 2.5/5 (a so-so read so..only when u can spare the time)
so far thats all that i really finished reading
but now i am currently reading
1> eldest
2> the singapore story by LKY

this is the title of the book I had just finished reading during Econs and Chem lecture today…A very sad book and I shed tears because of the book.
It is a very thin book and it is filled with pictures and drawings that move ur senses…the story is about a girl named Sadako Sasaki (not that long-haired sadako in Japanese horror movie), the girl was two yrs old when the “little boy” struck Hiroshima. She was very active when she was in elementary school…she was the fastest runner….but when she was in 7th grade…the Atomic Bomb Disease struck….and she died of horrible leukimia….the book is very touching as the author describes Sadako sufferings…..
She tried to fold a thousand paper cranes when she was in hospital battling her cancer …as the Japanese believed if u folded 1000 cranes by yourself ur wish will come true….
In her illness she managed to fold almost 1600 cranes….
she has a memorial statue in Peace Park, Hiroshima…
a place I will visit someday and on tat day I will definitely bring along some paper cranes in memory of Sadako and her gracious perseverance…I will learn how to fold the cranes first of course…since I don’t know how to do it now…
This is Our cry
this is Our prayer
